Fix Me!

main image
Psalm 51:10 (NKJV) Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

It would be nice if we could just wave a magic wand over the body of Christ and have everybody start thinking alike when it comes to sin and failure. From my experience, it simply doesn’t work like that. Instead, God comes to every heart for every action and attempts to make a correction in us one at a time. God is a ONE ON ONE God. Every person is responsible for to release their own heart to God one heart at a time. That’s why David asks- ing God in Psalm 51 to work on his heart. He isn’t asking God to change everybody else. He is saying to God, “Create in ME a clean heart.”

If we are honest, we must admit that is how God will deal with all of us. Whether we are talking about racism, gossip, addiction, or simply a bad attitude; the solution for all our failures is still the same one. We must all come to the Father individually to have our hearts cleaned by His mercy and grace. Every believer, at some point; must bring their attitude, will, and desires to our Father for reconciliation. The requirement for all of us is the same. It is for us to come to the Father and simply say, “Fix me!” The problem with the world is me. The problem with the church is me.

The problem with sin is me. I am the issue and He is the solution. My challenge to us today as a church is for us all to come to His loving arms and offer our hearts and lives to the Master for repair. If we are willing, He can do it.
