Living and Loving Like Christ
God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Well, let’s be honest. We had no idea of the changes that would need to take place in our lives when we believed in Jesus Christ. We knew one thing for sure, we wanted fire insurance. We wanted to escape eternal judgment. Whew! Thank you Jesus.
Did we really understand what it meant to be a disciple or what it truly meant to live and love like he does? Probably not.
The beautiful thing is every time we obey His word or become a little more like Him, we find our hearts becoming more fulfilled and enriched. Our days are happier and our outlook on life is filled with an excited expectancy. Honestly, it makes us want to learn more and become even more like Him and remarkably; beyond all that it does within us, we also learn that it pleases Him.
How extraordinary! That as a created, flawed, simple part of humanity; you can please and bring joy to the heart of Almighty God. Not the angels of heaven. You.
Do you want to truly thrill the heart of the Father? Then love. Love like He loves.
1 John 4:7-8 let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
We cannot afford to be arrogant in our faith. He who does not love does not know God intimately, for God is love. You must understand that when Christ lives in your heart, the love of Christ is in your heart also; and He wants and expects you to share His love with others. Possibly others have been rude, mean, or sarcastic etc. to you and you don’t want to forgive them or love them.
However; truthfully, there have been times you have acted the exact same way or worse. Yet, we enjoy His forgiveness and His redemption.
