Day #31

main image
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

As believers, you would think that we would not need this simple reminder. However, often times we do.
Part of our spiritual growth takes place by allowing the Holy Spirit to use God’s word to teach us and renew our minds. The enemy loves to use failures from our past or discouraging circumstances in our lives to take our minds off of God’s glorious plan for us. Every day that you breathe, God wants to do something with eternal value in your life and through your life.

We have spent too many days struggling to keep our heads above spiritual water and gasping for breath to survive. Thoughts of sin, rejection, and broken heartedness has stolen our joy as well as our ability to hear the fresh and directive word of the Lord for our day.

This is a day our Lord made. Let’s choose to rejoice, to praise him for all that He is and all that He has done for us. Let’s choose to be glad and encouraged in this day that He has given us.

This incredible God of creation even created our brains to release dopamine (the natural, feel-good stimulant) when we are glad and grateful. Actually, that creates an even greater desire to have the experience again.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowned you with his steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the Eagles. Psalm 103:2 – 5

We live too often as though we have forgotten the benefits of our Lord.

You are forgiven.

You are healed.

You have already been brought out of the pit of despair and destruction.

He has already crowned you with steadfast love and mercy in your heart and life.

He has already renewed your strength that you may soar above the hopelessness and pains of this life.

Choose to bless the Lord today and enjoy the transformation within your discouraged heart and defeated mind as He renews and refreshes your soul.

Praise Him and sense the joy of the Lord becoming your strength and lifting your heart to a new place of expectancy and thankfulness.

Oh Lord, forgive us for the many times that we allow our thoughts to be on our problems and not our problem solver; for the times that we feel hopeless when we know you are our hope. We acknowledge that you are our peace, our Savior, and our soon coming King.
You are worthy and we will….. I will rejoice and be glad in this day you have given me.
